I’ve always been told not to give in to peer pressure but I’ve never been told not to pressure my peers and I think that shows how dysfunctional society is
real life plot hole found
please do not let ferguson die out like everything else big does. do not let this die out. do not let this continue on for three days and then everyone forget about it. do not let this happen.
queue this post up 3 days from now, a week from now, a month from now, a month from then. make sure even if you forget your blog will remember.
the fact i’m seeing reblogs slow down despite the fact there is still news breaking is concerning
I had a (former) friend who insisted that the wage gap couldn't exist because "if the world was actually that unfair then more people would be talking about it!" I pointed out that there's a lot of people talking about it and sent him links to several studies on it and his response was "no, feminists want women janitors to be paid as well as male CEOs. It's stupid." I just. Where do they even get these ideas? Who is told "women should be equal to men" and starts yelling YOU HATE TEH MENZ!?
This is so funny because I literally got an anon just before you who said almost the same thing. Not to that extreme but he said:
"You think there’s a wage gap because women get paid less for doing lesser-demanding manual labour than men? O THUH MISSOJINNY!!!!!!!"
Oh, men. You’re so terrile.
Another contributing factor to the wage gap is that women are encouraged from a young age to pursue lower-paying jobs, while men are encouraged or expected to pursue higher-paying work.
Right. Also, I just noticed “terrile.” Oh well, you guys get it.
ALSO things that are typically viewed as “women’s work”, i.e. nursing, teaching, etc. are usually lower-paying. Go ahead, look up anything that is deemed “for women”, then notice how there’s a higher paying job ABOVE that, which is usually considered a “man’s work” i.e. principal, doctor, etc.
I love how in Russia doctors are paid poorly because there, it’s considered a “nurturing” professional suited to women. Ummmmmm
"you’re so full of yourself" no i had a lot of insecurites and a low self esteem which i worked extremely hard to overcome and now i realize that im awesome and i dont care if you think otherwise
english is not my first language and all my life i thought brussel sprouts was the name of some celebrity
everyone is always like “i hate brussel sprouts” and all this time i was here thinking what the fuck did that poor guy do
nice characters are good and important and strong
nice characters are not in any way inherently less interesting or complex or cool or badass than asshole characters
nice characters who go through hell and still remain good and kind and compassionate are so so strong
nice characters are not weak or boring or less badass, nice characters are awesome.
